Tucson, Arizona has become one of the more attractive cities in the country for individuals and families. The attractive year-around climate and small town warmth, makes this city a great place to call home.
If outdoor activity is your niche, Tucson has it all. Whether it is snow skiing, hiking the endless trails, boating, fishing or just laying by the pool, this city provides it all within a short drive. For the golfers, there is an abundance of private and municipal courses to play.
For those who like to sit back and watch, Tucson is home to many spectator sports. Professional golfers visit in the winter, as the PGA rolls into town at the Tucson Open. Spring brings on the Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Chicago White Sox for their pre-season training and exhibition games. The University of Arizona always provides excitement with a variety of successful teams. The area has not forgotten about the auto racing buffs. Tucson and nearby Phoenix provide every type of auto racing- Indy Cars, Drag Racing, Stock Cars, NASCAR, as well as desert off-road racing. We don't want to forget about our rodeo's. Professional and amateur events can be found almost year-around. The Tucson winter also brings a season of Quarterhorse racing to the city. And yes we have Ice Hockey too (indoors, of course).
The arts and culture scene finds its self with many venues. Tucson has it's own Symphony Orchestra, a major theatre production company, and many small repertoire groups. If you are looking for Jazz, New Wave, or Rock, you won't have to look too hard. Local Southwestern art and Native American art galleries are abundant in the Tucson area and adjoining reservations.
Whether you desire casual or formal, Tucson dining provides some of the finest restaurants in the country.
Shop till you drop? Yes you can. Tucson has it all. Of course, we have the usual malls, or you may want to opt for some of the endless smaller plazas with specialty stores. Manufacture's outlet stores are located in all areas of the city, as well as Casa Grand ( about 45 minutes up the road). You can head down to Mexico ( 45 minutes down the road) for shopping and great food there. If you are looking for Native American goods, I would suggest heading out to the Tohono O' Odham Reservation (about 45 minutes the other way). Selection is good and prices are much better than in the city.
Well, this is Tucson in a nutshell. Just a great place to live. The people are friendly and you can have all the big city amenities with a small town atmosphere.
